About Kitesurfing in Porthcawl
Porthcawl on the South Wales coast offers two kitesurfing beaches that complement each other perfectly. Between them, you can kitesurf in almost any wind direction, which makes it one of the most versatile kite locations in Wales.
Wind from S to NW? Head to Rest Bay. Wind from E to SE? Coney Beach is your spot. Want space, or wind from the SE round to the W? Aberavon is the wide open option.

Rest Bay
The main kite beach in Porthcawl. Great for all levels with a wide sandy beach at low tide.
Coney Beach
The go to alternative when the wind is offshore at Rest Bay. SE winds that blow off the land at Rest Bay are cross-shore here, making Coney the spot to head to.
Aberavon
Two miles of flat hard-packed sand at Port Talbot, with a permitted watersports zone and a wide working wind range.
